No More Job Creation Charades, Obama Needs to Go

Jim Spence
What a week. Rick Perry can't remember which agencies he will eliminate. The public can't remember how a media hogging "celebrity" lawyer always manages to grab the attention of the national press for a couple of days. Nobody at Penn State can remember to call the police when they see a horrific crime being committed. And nobody seems to remember the President of the United States has been pounding the table for "jobs" ever since his pollsters told him to.
President Obama continuously laments the fact that “corporations” have cash on the sidelines and it needs to be freed up to create jobs. Talk is cheap. Obama's decision late this week to “delay” any action on the Keystone XL pipeline until “after the election,” finally tells New Mexico voters all they need to know about his desire to create jobs. Helping America get back to work is simply not one of Obama's primary concerns.
Ready to go, the Keystone XL pipeline would bring about a million barrels of non Middle Eastern, politically safe, Canadian oil to the United States every day. This crucial project would have created about 400,000 jobs in the U.S. almost immediately. Less dependence on Middle Eastern oil and a huge stimulus to the economy would occur without the president piling more debt on the backs of every American via the passage of his big government jobs bill. And unlike the inept government efforts at economic stimulus, this project is shovel-ready with risk-taking investors footing the entire bill. It is astounding that this project was shelved.
Clearly, President Obama’s only true passion lies in making government more powerful, even if he has to borrow trillions to make it so. And despite his personal willingness to burn untold amounts of fossil fuel to jet all around the country in what amounts to a continuous political campaign, the truth is he despises all efficient forms of energy. Accordingly, despite using oil, gas, and coal to travel and stay warm he tries to destroy these industries and the American economy with every stroke of his pen.
This week the story broke of a new collector’s item becoming available. The huge banner Solyndra had made to welcome Obama to their now boarded up plant is for sale. It is a fitting memento to his vision for the future of job creation.
There should not be a single American anywhere that is still deluded into thinking this president has a clue about economic policy. His signature energy solution for America is to borrow additional billions to throw at companies like Solyndra while using bureaucratic delays to stop legitimate projects featuring high paying jobs with generous benefits.
The economic impact of another four years of an Obama presidency will be catastrophic. If the Obama team is returned, America’s economic resurgence will never see the light of day. He is no friend of New Mexico or job seekers anywhere. No more job creation charades, Obama's political career needs to go directly to the dust bin of history.
