Rain dampens Santa Fe forest fire

From KRQE-TV.com - SANTA FE (KRQE) - Wetting rain fell on the Pacheco Fire Saturday as fire-team managers said no activity was seen within the 10,000-acre burn. At 6 p.m. Saturday the Incident Management Team released this update: Pacheco Fire Update July 2, 2011 6:00 p.m. This will be the last update on the Pacheco Fire from the Arizona Central West Zone Incident Management Team. Future updates will be provided by the Santa Fe National Forest. Acres: 10,250 Start date: June 18, 2011 Cause: Under Investigation Location: 2 miles north of Santa Fe Ski Basin Containment: 55 percent Fuels: Mixed conifer and Ponderosa pine Terrain: Steep, rugged Resources: 5 crews, 9 engines, 6 water tenders, 1 dozer Total personnel: 328 Available air support: 1 helicopter Today’s Activity: The firefighters working on the Pacheco Fire on the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest completed rehabilitation of the control lines on the south, west and north sides of the fire. No fire behavior was observed on the fire today. There is low potential for fire growth. A wetting rain fell on the fire area this afternoon. Read more

Lawsuit Ties Ex-Congressman to Pay to Play Deal
