McChrystal Out and Petraeus In

General Stanley McChrystal (left) emerged from the White House woodshed yesterday stripped of his duties as the commander of U.S. and NATO military forces in Afghanistan. There can never be any doubt that there is a chain of command in place in the U.S. military and at the top of the chain the civilians call the shots. For reasons known only to McChrystal the general made disparaging remarks about senior White House officials to a Rolling Stone magazine reporter. The comments made their way into print and this error in judgment by McChrystal left President Obama no choice but to make a change. McChrystal was swiftly recalled and replaced by General David Petraeus (right) who ironically was mockingly referred to as General "Betray Us" by many Obama supporters when President Bush was Commander-in-Chief.  Read the details of the change here:
