NewsNM note- New uncertainty over fresh regulations will leave environmentalist attorneys with more ability than ever to use U.S. Court system to block drilling permitting processes. - From Bloomberg U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar lifted the Obama administration’s ban on deep-water drilling, citing new safeguards intended to prevent a repeat of BP Plc’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. “I have decided that it is now appropriate to lift the suspension on deep-water drilling for those operators that are able to clear the higher bar that we have set,” Salazar said today on a conference call with reporters.
