From the El Paso Times - AUSTIN -- Republican Gov. Rick Perry and his Democratic opponent, Bill White, do not agree on much. But one place they find common ground is their criticism of the federal government's efforts to secure the Texas border with Mexico. Both say that Washington for years has shirked its responsibilities and should be pouring more money into manpower and technology to protect Texas residents. The similarities end there as each candidate attempts to convince voters that he has the better plan to prevent drug-related violence in Mexico from harming Texans. Read more here:
