From KCRA.com - DENAIR, Calif. -- A 13-year-old Stanislaus County boy at the center of a flag controversy got a big show of support Monday as many bikers rallied to his side. Cody Alicea was earlier told by Denair Middle School officials that he could not ride onto campus with a U.S. flag on his bike. The story has gained international attention, from Rush Limbaugh to soldiers in Afghanistan. The school changed its mind, and now Alicea can display the stars and stripes. Denair Unified School District Superintendent Edward Parraz said the campus recently experienced some racial tension. He said some students got out of hand on Cinco de Mayo. He said some students displayed the Mexican flag, while others displayed American flags. Read more

Cody was merely showing his patriotism. After all, this is American right? Isn't it ironic that there is controversy when someone decides to show our flag in our country? This should have been a non-issue but instead it was made into an international incident. What a shame! But I am glad for those who eventually stood up for him and forced the school to change its mind.
American soldiers have defended and preserved our freedom throughout the globe. The idea that American's should be discouraged from expressing their patriotism is not only repulsive in spirit but borders treason in it's concept. Where else do you fly an American flag is NOT in America? What an ugly disgrace for these school officials to have initially made such a brain dead decision.
