The Money Grubbing Government Among Us

Michael and Conrad
NMPolitics - Our nation’s founders worried that government without strong limitations, even government in a republic, could become as oppressive as King George III who inspired the American Revolution. They sought to keep government from unduly oppressing citizens. Over time, though, always for a “good cause,” government was able to grab more and more power. Government today is arguably as oppressive as it was with King George in 1776. Citizens today serve the government rather than the other way around. The authorities live regally as if they are our betters. We are just “giving units” providing the funding for their imperial authority. We have seen enormous changes in our society these past 50 years. Read full column here: News New Mexico

We're told whether or not we have to have health insurance under the commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution? Really? (well, most of us). Some are the King's personal friends or friends of the King's friends. We're told what kind of food we can buy or what can be sold in a McDonald's happy meal, whether or not we can pray at school, whether or not we have to buckle up when we drive or whether we have to wear a crash helmet when we're riding a motor cycle. In some cases government wants to be able to tell whether or not we can smoke in our own home and NOW one state government wants to pass a law that makes it a crime to resist an illegal search and seizure that takes place in our homes! Lastly, some in the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate want to censor the balance and content of political ideas and points of view expressed on private television networks and the internet. If they could EVER devise or invent technology they would attempt to control what we think as well.
