APD is Feeling the Heat, Rogue Element Claimed

KOB TV - The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies known as CALEA will decide if APD should retain its good standing. The department has to comply with almost 500 standards, one of those being public confidence. "We hope you will not accredit this police department because it does not deserve accreditation," said one family member addressing the commission. Stephen Torres' son, Christopher, was shot and killed in April 2010 while being served an arrest warrant. According to police, he did not cooperate with officers. "I want to make it clear from the start that I am not anti-cop," Stephen Torres told the commission. "He didn't want to do what they wanted him to do in two minutes so they put him down on the ground and they shot him three times in the back." Torres doesn't blame the entire department but told the commission he believes there is a serious problem. "There is a rogue element in APD, an out-of-control element that is not being disciplined…that is not being properly supervised…that is not being properly trained and it's evident," Torres said. It's not Albuquerque; it's cops everywhere.

Try these

IT's the teeny weeny principle. Those with small d--ks need to prove their manhood every day. Policing seems to attract these people. They are not in control of their own lives but they believe they have the authority to control others.

Cops are here to serve US. They work FOR US. They do OUR bidding. And they are under the law. Look around, you will see cops everywhere violating the law and no one does anything to stop them for fear of retribution.

It is time to stop letting Internal Affairs investigate and create external citizen boards to do the investigation. Cops protect each other. Cops lie for each other. Cops have a THEM vs US attitude. Cops that break the law even once should be fired on the spot. They must be held to the highest standard of behavior because of their position. We do not do that. And we pay the price with legal murder.
