A late three by Erica Sanchez in regulation and perfect free throw shooting by Camila Rosen and Tabytha Wampler in overtime helped lead the Aggies to their fourth victory in a row over I-10 rival UTEP. Madison Spence led the Aggies with 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists and six steals in 38 minutes.
Erica Sanchez hit a three pointer with nine seconds left in regulation as the Aggies erased a nine-point deficit in the final two and a half minutes.
In overtime the Aggies took the first lead on a layup by Camila Rosen. After UTEP answered with a three pointer on the next possession, the Aggies would get a layup from Tabytha Wampler to go back in front 74-73. Green would answer with a layup to put UTEP back up by one 75-74 but Rosen would give the Aggies the lead back on a jumper with 1:16 left to play. The Miners would miss two shots and the Aggies would get the ball back with 17 seconds left. The Miners would foul Camila Rosen who calmly hit both free throws to give the Aggies a 78-75 lead. Green would miss a three point attempt and the Aggies would grab the rebound. UTEP would foul Tabytha Wampler with 1.4 seconds left and Wampler would hit both free throws to seal the game for the Aggies as they'd go on to win 80-75. Click here to read more.
