Updated post: in an earlier post we referred to the new Las Cruces Public Schools elementary school incorrectly. It is Monte Vista Elementary.
Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima will appear as a guest on News New Mexico this morning at 8:00AM. We will discuss the actions of council at the latest City Council meeting yesterday.
We will also delve into the council's votes cast back in January and April related to a Special Assessment District. A YES vote by the council would have secured $10 million in road building funds from the New Mexico Finance Authority for our area. The money could have provided a second access road to Monte Vista Elementary School and a second access road to the stranded golf course north of the city. The mayor cast the only vote in favor of the project. We will ask him why he thinks the rest of the council voted NO.
