KOB - TV - SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) - The U.S. Forest Service says a wildfire burning in southwestern New Mexico has charred more than 83,000 acres. Crews have made some progress containing 48 percent of the Miller Fire near Silver City. They're trying to preserve the natural condition of the land by minimizing the cutting of trees.
