NM Budget: Good News and Bad News

From Capitol ReportNewMexico.com - The New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) got a rare bit of good news on Thursday (Dec. 2) when budget experts revised their fiscal year 2011 estimates upwards by $55.8 million. But nobody — neither the budget analysts nor the members of the committee — were doing cartwheels upon hearing the news because the state still faces a budget deficit of roughly $300 million.
