Next year promises to be a fierce contest, pitting the two-year-old Tea Party grass-roots movement vs. the time-tested and newly energized Big Labor machine. The American Policy Summit's leaders downplayed 2012, stressing issues like the Constitution, ObamaCare and the debt ceiling. "We had training for local activists, but the biggest focus of the event is more on policy, culture and education," said Jenny Beth Martin, national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, which organized the summit.
