Gov. Martinez accompanying NM goodwill ambassadors on weeklong trip to promote the state

Susana Martinez is traveling to the East Coast and the South with a nonprofit civic group to promote the state. The governor’s office says Martinez will leave Sunday with the New Mexico Amigos for a weeklong trip that includes stops in Maryland, Alabama, Georgia and Texas. The New Mexico Amigos is made up of business, community and state leaders who pay their way, and for the governor, to travel to promote economic development, tourism and other opportunities in New Mexico. This is the 50th anniversary of the Amigos’ first trip. The group will visit the Washington area, including the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and a Secret Service training facility in Laurel, Md., and travel to Auburn University in Alabama, Atlanta and San Antonio, Texas.
