In a hard-hitting statement to Mail Online, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) said: "What a disappointment to hear President Obama's revealing comments challenging the significance of America's entrepreneurs. His unfortunate remarks over the weekend show an utter lack of understanding and appreciation for the people who take a huge personal risk and work endless hours to start a business and create jobs."
President Barack Obama said in a speech at the weekend that governments and not individuals create jobs, telling entrepreneurs: "If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."
He added: "You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart."
The inflammatory campaign speech comments underline the extent to which Obama believes that the state rather than ordinary citizens create jobs and wealth. They highlight a key contrast with Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee, who is preaching a message of wealth creation by individuals and reinvigorating the private sector.And the spokesman for the NFIB added: "I'm sure every small-business owner who took a second mortgage on their home, maxed out their credit cards or borrowed money from their own retirement savings to start their business disagrees strongly with President Obama's claim." Why is everyone surprised by the asinine comments of this president? "..."If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."??? Really? Evidently the president has never read the Declaration of Independence. "...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." The government didn't create us. We created the government. Private industry and entrepreneurs built the infrastructure of America...NOT the government. Private industry is responsible for EVERY innovation of our nation's development, NOT government. These ridiculous comments from the president occurred while his teleprompter was turned off. More and more we learn what this man REALLY thinks about the private sector. Such comments are PROFOUNDLY revealing. The possibility of his reelection is deeply disturbing.
