Housing Bubble Blood Soiled Obama's Litigation Hands

Daily Caller - President Barack Obama was a pioneering contributor to the national subprime real estate bubble, and roughly half of the 186 African-American clients in his landmark 1995 mortgage discrimination lawsuit against Citibank have since gone bankrupt or received foreclosure notices.
As few as 19 of those 186 clients still own homes with clean credit ratings, following a decade in which Obama and other progressives pushed banks to provide mortgages to poor African Americans.

The startling failure rate among Obama’s private sector clients was discovered during The Daily Caller’s review of previously unpublished court information from the lawsuit that a young Obama helmed as the lead plaintiff’s attorney. [RELATED: Learn about the 186 class action plaintiffs]

Since the mortgage bubble burst, some of his former clients are calling for a policy reversal.

“If you see some people don’t make enough money to afford the mortgage, why would you give them a loan?” asked Obama client John Buchanan. “There should be some type of regulation against giving people loans they can’t afford.”

Banks “were too eager to lend to many who didn’t qualify,” said Don Byas, another client who saw banks lurch from caution to bubble-inflating recklessness. Townhall - The Republican National Convention in Tampa displayed a large “debt clock” that ticked away at a rate of $10 million a minute, keeping the nation’s dire financial straits front and center. Had there been a companion counter with a chit mark for each time the word “jobs” was mentioned from the main stage, it likely would have clicked on at a similar pace.

This week, at the Democratic National Convention the word “jobs” is sure to, once again, be a popular topic.
As Vice President Biden famously said, referencing the number one issue facing the middle class, “it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S.”
That “three-letter word” may be the only thing the two parties agree on—and how each would get there is totally different.
In Tampa, Romney said: “What is needed in our country today is not complicated or profound. It doesn't take a special government commission to tell us what America needs. What America needs is jobs. Lots of jobs. … I am running for president to help create a better future. A future where everyone who wants a job can find one. Where no senior fears for the security of their retirement. An America where every parent knows that their child will get an education that leads them to a good job and a bright horizon. And unlike the President, I have a plan to create 12 million new jobs. It has 5 steps. First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.” (Italics added.) Hmmmm - Photo ID Required at DNC Convention

According to the Obama administration, requiring photo identification of voters is "racist" because it disenfranchises minorities. The administration says requiring proper ID is clearly a form of suppression. Accordingly, the president has authorized Attorney General Eric Holder to sue numerous states over their voter ID laws; the most recent being the state of Texas.
Low and behold we found a very troubling page on the Democratic National Convention website. It requires all people to register for the convention. OK that is fair enough. But get this......the page reveals an interesting policy: “All pickup persons must have a state-issued ID that matches the name submitted.”
Finally we have a complete understanding of the principle of requiring photo identification. When Democrats require photo identification it is perfectly normal. The reason is simple. All citizens are required to provide photo ID’s for various reasons during the normal course of day-to-day activities. However, when Republicans support rules requiring voters to provide photo ID's to protect legitimate voters from having their votes cancelled out by fraudulently cast votes, it.....well......it is because of …………..um ........... "racism."

Hotair - What a difference a day makes … twenty-four little hours … Why, just yesterday all was doom and gloom for Maryland’s Democratic governor, Martin O’Malley, who admitted to Bob Schieffer yesterday that he couldn’t say that people are better off now than four years ago, although he rushed to add, “but that’s not the question for this election.”

One day later — and presumably, one Cory Booker-esque call from Team Obama — suddenly the world looks a lot rosier to Governor O’Malley: A day after saying, no, the country was not better off than it was four years ago, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley reversed course on Monday and said, yes, indeed it was.

“We are clearly better of as a country because we’re now creating jobs rathare than losing them,” O’Malley, a Democrat, said on CNN’s Starting Point. “But we have not recovered all that we lost in the Bush recession. That’s why we need to continue to move forward.”

He then motioned to a panel that included Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, among others. “Is there anyone on this panel that thinks we’ve recovered all we lost in the Bush recession? Clearly we’re moving forward, we’re creating jobs, unemployment is down, job creation is up. Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley Admits We Are NOT Better Off After Four Years of Obama

Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland, finally admitted what everyone else already knows. O'Malley contradicted other Obama supporters making the rounds on the Sunday political talk show circuit when he openly conceded that the country was not better off now than it was four years ago.
Appearing on CBS's Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer asked O'Malley: “Can you honestly say that people are better off today than they were four years ago?”
O’Malley's reply was as follows: “No, but that's not the question of this election. The question, without a doubt, we are not as well off as we were before George Bush brought us the Bush job losses, the Bush recession, the Bush deficits, the series of desert wars -- charged for the first time to credit cards, the national credit card.” Apparently even Democratic sympathizer Schieffer was not impressed. Rather than immediately ask another question he told O'Malley, “George Bush is not on the ballots.”

It’s a celebration of all things that fly; including humans, sort of. The Sandia Open Aerial Rodeo and Soar Music Festival is a five day event. For about $150 you can get hang gliding and paragliding training, and experience it too. "Just kind of being suspended in the air and kind of feeling your own weight," said Damaris Donado who is learning to hang glide. "Flying a hang glider is like being a bird. You don't see the wing over you while you're flying. All you see is the ground thousands of feet below you," said organizer Chris Grotbeck of freewindaviation.com. If hang gliding makes you feel like a bird, remote control airplanes make enthusiast Robert Garcia feel like a kid again. "It's a toy in the ground, but when it's in the air you've got the safety factor with the people who are on the ground. It's kind of adrenaline pushing," said Garcia of flying R.C. airplanes. And what’s a festival without some good food? Safari Street Grill, formerly NY Grill, is celebrating one year in business. Fed Chairman: Economy is "Painfully Slow"

Barack Obama did not have a good day yesterday. First Mitt Romney announced plans to visit the hurricane battered Gulf Coast prompting the president to hastily arrange his own trip to the area. In that brief post GOP convention moment America was already seeing signs of Mitt Romney leading and Barack Obama following. Things got worse. Obama's Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke spoke at the Fed’s annual gathering in Jackson Hole, Wyoming yesterday. What he had to say confirmed what Republicans said all week in Tampa about the sorry status of the jobs environment.

Mr Bernanke was more glum than ever as he provided fresh details on the disappointing state of the United States economy. His speech came on the heels of news that jobless claims rose again last week. Bernanke's plain talk on the excruciatingly sluggish economy raised market expectations of more Fed action to get the economy off of life support in September.

“Taking due account of the uncertainties and limits of its policy tools, the Federal Reserve will provide additional policy accommodation as needed to promote a stronger economic recovery and sustained improvement in labor market conditions,” Bernanke said.

Bernanke also described the economy as, “painfully slow” in his speech.

Bernanke issued a disturbing warning to the millions Americans looking for jobs. “Unless the economy begins to grow more quickly than it has recently, the unemployment rate is likely to remain far above levels consistent with maximum employment for some time,” Bernanke said.
