The national popular vote scheme is a leftist scheme to steal the power away from the smaller states. The idea is to make the election more lopsided so whomever is elected appears to have a huge mandate. States like NM, where the law is being considered, will lose any chance of affecting the election in a positive manner.
In addition, the national popular vote BS is unconstitutional under Article I, Section 10, Paragraph 3 UNLESS Congress allows it.
The only party I can see to benefit from this usurpation of power is the Democrat party, or socialists as they are better termed.
