Governor of Montana Attacks Romney's Family History

Gateway Pundit :On Thursday Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer decided to go after Romney’s family history regarding polygamy stating Hispanics would not approve of such a history. So it is only fair to point out that President Obama’s family has a history of polygamy and bigamy as well. Yet the majority of Hispanics voted for President Obama in 2008.The Washington Post reported:
“The line of polygamists in Obama’s family can be traced back generations in western Kenya, where it was an accepted practice within the Luo (pronounced LOO-oh) tribe.” His great-grandfather, Obama Opiyo, had five wives, including two who were sisters. His grandfather, Hussein Onyango, had at least four wives, one of whom, Akumu, gave birth to the president’s father, Barack Obama” before fleeing her abusive husband. Obama Sr. was already married when he left Kenya to study at the University of Hawaii, where he married again. His American wife-to-be, Stanley Ann Dunham, was not yet 18 and unaware of his marital situation when she became pregnant with his namesake son in 1961.
It is also well known that Democrat Senator from New Mexico, Tom Udall, and his cousin, Senator Mark Udall (D) from Colorado, come from a long line of polygamists. But that was never an issue because they are Democrats. Mens Journal reported:
In the Udall family, politics stretches back generations. Mark’s and Tom’s great-grandfather, David King Udall, was a pioneer Arizonan and a Mormon polygamist who was sent to federal prison (on testimony of an ancestor of Mitt Romney’s, family lore has it). He was pardoned by President Grover Cleveland, then tossed back in jail. This time, it was Barry Goldwater’s grandfather who got him off the hook.
It’s only ever an issue if the politician is Republican.

New Details in the Hezbollah/Mexican Cartel Drug Ring

From thegatewaypundit.com -Today we receive new details in the case of a Lebanese national who is the ringleader of the international drug smuggling group that works with Mexican drug cartel as well as Hezbollah. Aymon Joumaa has been indicted and is still at large. A report from earlier today revealed a cyber-attack on the U.S. by radical Islamic groups in Mexico and a recent report tells of Hezbollah’s global secret spying capabilities. So being the gracious and giving Americans that we are, we handed their ally and advocate (Iran) a U.S. billion dollar drone to help sharpen those “mad” skills. But just in case they need a little more help, the National Park Service has proposed an unmanned border entry in Texas with Mexico.  More News New Mexico

TX Pro-Illegal Group Helps Illegals Obtain NM Drivers License

The Texas Dream Act Alliance website provides step by step instructions on how to obtain a New Mexico drivers license including some social engineering "hints" on how to successfully obtain a license.  The website also points out the inconsistencies with the New Mexico DMV: “Hint: If possible, make multiple appointments on different days at different MVDs in case you don't have all the proper documentation at the first appointment and must return to the MVD.  WARNING: The New Mexico MVD system is notoriously bad and inconsistent. One location may accept your documentation while another may reject that same documentation for completely arbitrary reasons. Your best bet is to bring as many different forms of documentation and visit multiple MVDs. Don't give up!”  The website can be seen here

Unconstitutional? Make Them Hire Lawyers!

Rachel Pulaski
Much controversy has been surrounding NewsNM the past few days concerning the actions of Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima at a City Council meeting held on February 7, 2011.   The topic of interest was the sale of guns at a Lion’s Club Gun Show within the city limits.  A concerned citizen wanted to know what steps the City was taking to prevent criminals from buying guns at the Lions Club Gun Show and shipping them to Mexico. The video for the City Council Meeting can be seen here (Fast forward to )  NewsNM reported meeting minutes taken by contributor Jim Harbison (audio of the show can be listened to here and here ) which relayed the following information: “Police Chief Williams commented that these sales are regulated by Federal Law and the ATF and that the city has little authority over them.
Jim Harbison
Mayor Miyagishima wants to pass a resolution to require background checks on all individuals who purchase guns.  City Attorney Connolly stated it would be unconstitutional because the NM Constitutions says cities have no right to interfere with the Second Amendment right to bear arms.  Mayor Miyagishima said "Of course we could always do it ourselves and let someone challenge us on it ."” Shortly after reporting this information the Mayor called the show in an effort to defend his actions. You can listen to that segment here.  Today we had Jim Harbison as a guest to speak on the topic and defend the allegations made against him by the Major which can be heard here.  In my personal opinion after watching the video several times, I would say that Mr. Harbison was truthful and accurate in his account of the meeting.
Ken Miyagishima
I believe the underlying issues have been overlooked which is the blatant disregard for the rule of law and our constitutional rights by our elected officials who want to perform illegal acts under the guise of “knowing what is best for us."  Not to mention the blatant arrogance on behalf of Major Miyagishima to disregard the state constitution and force the taxpayers to be burdened with the cost to fight for their constitutional rights in court.  Mayor Miyagishima defended his actions by stating “It is my job to protect the citizens of this city” and that he wanted a level playing field for complying businesses like Wal-Mart and gun dealers at a gun show.  The fact is, all licensed gun dealers MUST perform background checks AT GUN SHOWS. There is no "loophole" for guns shows.  Private transactions between citizens who are not licensed gun dealers are not covered under the law at gun shows or anywhere else for that matter.  There are many of us who do not wish to give up our freedoms for better security or to have our state constitution overlooked for the “greater good”  This is one instance in many where the end does not justify the means.  I invite you to watch the video and listen to the audio to judge for yourself.

The Blame is Within

Rachel Pulaski
Only a few hours after Ben Lujan won the vote to retain his position as New Mexico Speaker of the House, the Progressives started spewing their usual political filth and finger pointing by blaming the Tea Party for Joseph Cervantes’ loss. Let’s take a look at the facts. First, Cervantes was unable to use his “suave” personality or popularity to receive a nomination from his party for fear that a Republican may win the vote. Second, the Republicans had no obligation to vote for someone outside of their party especially for someone who does not meet any of their core values. Lastly, the New Mexico Tea Parties formed a coalition to persuade their party and representatives to stay true to their values and principles by asking them to nominate a candidate from their own party. The Democrats and Progressives can play the blame game, but ultimately they only have themselves to blame. If the Democrats felt that Ben Lujan was suddenly an unacceptable speaker then where was their grassroots effort to support Joseph? Ben Lujan has been speaker for 10 years and NOW the Democrats finally feel he is a corrupt politician and an unfit choice for speaker? One can only assume that they just did not care about Lujan’s actions for the past ten years or the Democrats were just too lazy to do anything about it until now. What has happened in New Mexico politics recently to make the Democrats have such a change of heart? If it was not for the industrious effort of Andy Nunez, Joseph Cervantes would have been just another name in the New Mexico House. Let me make it clear, if the members of the Democratic Party had done their job and made their voices heard by contacting their representatives and forming their own public coalition then Cervantes would have been the new speaker. Don’t blame the Tea Party for the lack of the Democratic Party’s grassroots skills. Finally, to those of you who continue to attack and slander the Tea Party, we thank you. Your actions only inspire us, fuel our momentum and expand our parties. While our opposition wastes their time predicting our demise, we will continue influencing politics right under their nose.
